When you rent a spit from Lamb Champs, we provide everything you need for the spit setup itself, so you don’t have to worry about sourcing the equipment separately. There are 4 options
Your rental includes the spit machine and all the basic fittings needed to get started. We also include the gas on all the options.
If you’ve booked a full package, we also include [seasoning / prep / carving tools / Cutlery, plates ]. We’ll confirm exactly what’s included when you book, so there are no surprises on the day.
We have 4 options when booking a spit.
If you choose the option with only the spit you need to arrange for the lamb/ meat that you would want to spit.
A whole spit lamb typically feeds around 40 people, for a 22kg lamb, but is also dependent on how generously it’s served, and what side dishes are included. If you’re serving several salads, bread, or other mains alongside it, it can comfortably stretch further.
If you’re not sure what size lamb you need, we’re happy to help you choose the right option based on your guest count.
Not at all, our spit rentals are suitable for first-timers as well as experienced hosts. The machine is straightforward to use, and we’ll provide clear instructions on setup, cooking time, and basic operation. We’re also happy to share practical tips on fire management, positioning the lamb, and getting the best end result.
If needed, we can also provide support by phone or WhatsApp on the day, so you’re not left figuring things out on your own.
We are only available in Gauteng at the moment. We deliver to your address and pick up the next day.
All we ask is that the equipment is kept safe, reasonably clean, and ready for collection
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends, month-end dates, school holidays, and public holidays, as these dates fill up quickly. Ideally, book at least [1 to 2 weeks] in advance. For peak periods, earlier is always better.
Last-minute bookings may be possible depending on availability, so feel free to contact us even if your event is coming up soon.
To secure your booking, we require a 70% deposit upfront. The remaining balance is due the week of the function. Once your booking is confirmed, we reserve the equipment exclusively for your date.
If you need to cancel or move your booking, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations made 2 weeks before the event will receive a refund, while later cancellations may be subject to a fee. Where possible, we’ll do our best to accommodate date changes, subject to availability.
